Hosted by the Department of Physical Education and guided by the College of Science at National Taipei University of Education (NTUE), the "2026 NTUE Physical Education Academic Conference" concluded successfully on May 24th at the Auditorium (Room 405) in the Student Center. The conference attracted nearly one hundred experts, scholars, graduate students, physical education teachers, and professionals in related fields. Together, they explored research findings and practical applications in physical education and sports science, demonstrating NTUE's profound strength in sports academic research and talent cultivation.
With the core objective of "enhancing physical education academic research capability and improving research quality," this year's conference featured diverse formats, including keynote speeches, oral presentations, and poster presentations. A total of 30 papers were presented this year, with 4 selected from the submissions for oral presentations. The research topics spanned a wide range of fields, including sports training, physical education pedagogy, sports humanities, and health promotion, fully demonstrating the breadth and depth of academic research in physical education.
Professor Ying-Che Inglish Huang, Chair of the host department, noted that this year's submissions showed a significant increase in both quantity and research quality compared to last year. This trend underscores the continuously growing dedication of students and researchers to academic research in physical education.
For the keynote speech, Professor Yu-Kai Chang from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) was specially invited to share his insights. Speaking on the topic "The Comprehensive Guide to Bagua Daoyin Multimodal Exercise," Professor Chang explored how sports science research can be combined with teaching, research, social practice, and industrial application, sparking enthusiastic feedback from the attendees.
The conference concluded with an award ceremony for outstanding paper presentations and the distribution of research grants, encouraging the continued deep cultivation of excellent research achievements. Director Ying-Che Inglish Huang of the Department of Physical Education stated that the department will continue to organize related academic events in the future, providing an academic exchange platform to promote research development and cross-disciplinary cooperation in the fields of physical education and sports science.
