【Honor Roll】2023 IKF U21 Asia-Oceania Korfball Championship - the Champion

Congratulations!”The Innovation and Sustainable Development Association” has cultivated outstanding athletes.Yu-Feng Liao, including seven students from the Department of Physical Education won the championship in the “2023 IKF U21 Asia-Oceania Korfball Championship”, winning the highest honor for the country and the school.

The seven students from the Department of Physical Education participated in the 2023 IKF U21 Asia-Oceania Korfball Championship held in Malaysia and won the championship. Among them, Yu-Feng Liao won the Female MVP, the Female Top Assistant, and the Female Top Dfender, Tzu-Hsuan Chou won the Female Top Rebounder. The seven students are:Tsung-Yu Tsai, Wei Han, Yu-Hao Lin, Ying-Ting Huang, Tzu-Hsuan Chou, Yu-Feng Liao, and Wei-Chien Kao.

Special thanks to the "Innovation and Sustainable Development Fund" for providing training funding subsidies for the school korfball team, reducing the burden on students and letting them focus on domestic and foreign competitions, and getting good results.

Executive coach the Professor the head of the Department of Physical Education Ying-Che Huang said, from 2008 to 2022, current students or alumni who play korfball were often accounting for more than a half of the total number of players in the National Korfball Team.

Participation in various international and official korfball competitions have good results. The team has won 1 silver medal, 3 bronze medals in the World Games;3 bronze medals in the World Championships;3 gold medals in the IKF Asia-Oceania Korfball Championship;2 gold medals in the IKF Asia Korfball Championship;1 bronze medal in the World University Korfball Championship. The team once hit a record high of being ranked as the second in the world for four years. The ranking currently remains as the third in the world.
