Introduction

I. Objectives

  • Undergraduate Program

A. Educate excellent elementary school physical education teachers and administrative professionals.
B. Educate physical education and health and leisure related professionals.

C. Cultivate noble morality and good social behaviors, to enhance the quality of teachers.

D. Cultivate thinking and research knowledge, to establish the ability of education (physical education) research.

  • Graduate Program

A. Integrate related sciences, and educate physical education, sports sciences research, workout promotion, leisure management, and sports administrative professionals.
B. Strengthen the cultivation of academic research professionals, and promote the atmosphere of academic research.

C. Strengthen international academic exchanges, and promote research and development in the academic field of leisure activities in our country, in order to improve the quality of leisure life of people.

II. Features

  • The department aims to cultivate elementary school teachers and engage in physical education.
  • The contents of the courses emphasize theories and practices. Cooperating with lectures, discussions, practical operations, and independent studies, to enable students to be competent in elementary school physical education teaching.

III. Courses

  • Undergraduate Program

The courses in the department can be divided into three routes. Students can choose to study teacher pre-service education credits according to personal choices.

  •  Course of 128 credits (Route 1, students who do not intend to engage in teaching.)

Students who choose route 1 and plan to get the completion of pre-service education credit qualifications for teachers, must take 40 credits in literacy education courses and professional education courses.

  • Graduate Program

A. 10 credits of required subjects (Including the 0 credit thesis.)
B. 22 credits of elective subjects (A minimum of 16 credits should be taken in the group’s specialized fields, including 8 credits in the core fields.) Among the subjects, 6 credits are open for intra-study, inter-study, and inter-school elective subjects.

C. Required subjects must be taken from the first semester, then the courses in the second semester.
Elective subjects can be selected by all grades.
