【Honor Roll】Congratulations to Prof. Ying-Che Inglish Huang of the Department for being re-elected as the President of IKF Asia – The Asian Continental Korfball Confederation
Professor Huang Ying-Zhe, Chair of our department, has been re-elected as President of IKF Asia – The Asian Continental Korfball Confederation, with a term from 2023 to 2027. The Asian Korfball Confederation currently has 14 member organizations: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand in Southeast Asia; India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka in South Asia; China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, and Taiwan in Northeast Asia.
Since the founding of the Asian Korfball Confederation in 2011, Professor Huang has served as President and concurrently as Vice-President of the International Korfball Federation (IKF). He has made outstanding contributions to the promotion and growth of korfball in Asia. For example, the number of Asian countries qualifying for the World Korfball Championship, held every four years, has increased from 4 teams in 2011 to 7 teams in 2023.
In addition, Professor Huang was awarded the title of “IKF Honorary Member” at the 2023 International Korfball Federation General Meeting.
