【International Exchange】2024 Seoul National University of Education Korfball Exchange Event Press Release
2024 Overseas Korfball Exchange Event between Our University and Seoul National University of Education Successfully Concluded
To fulfill the commitment made during the visit of the Seoul National University of Education (hereafter referred to as SNUE) korfball team in January of this (113th) academic year, our university’s Division I korfball team students traveled to SNUE in Korea from July 24 to July 30, 2024, for a carefully designed korfball training camp and cultural exchange activities. This event received high-level attention from SNUE, with President Professor Jang Shin-Ho personally meeting with our student representatives, Chien Mu-Yun, Peng Huai-Rou, and Wang Yi-Wen (accompanied by SNUE korfball advisor Professor Yom Woo-Sub), showing concern for their training progress and encouraging everyone to cherish these valuable memories. He also encouraged continued substantive exchanges to enhance korfball expertise and maintain friendly relations.
The training camp was designed with the principle of “beginning with the end in mind.” In short, on the first day of training, it was announced that a championship tournament would be held on the last day to assess the effectiveness of the training. To win and become champions in the tournament, our students, under the collaborative leadership of seniors Chien Mu-Yun, Peng Huai-Rou, and Wang Yi-Wen, worked together to guide SNUE students in improving the three key elements of korfball offense and defense: communicating, deciding, and executing decisions.
Beyond on-court interactions, we also engaged in various cultural exchanges with the Korean korfball team after practice. For example, we arranged a unique Korean university activity called “Membership Training” (MT), which included barbecues and many group games. These activities added more fun to the exchange, deepened the friendship between the two universities, and enhanced mutual cultural experience and appreciation.
Overall, this international korfball exchange provided our students with the opportunity for overseas practical experience, enhancing their professional knowledge in korfball coaching and administration, and promoting understanding, acceptance, and learning of foreign cultures. On the other hand, the SNUE korfball team made significant progress both as a team and as individuals, which will positively impact their preparation for the Asian Korfball Championship to be held in Hong Kong in November. The list of students who participated in this international korfball exchange is as follows:
